The works of Moreno Bondi’s exhibition at Palazzo Venezia collected in this catalog offer a complete and challanging picture of an important and multifaceted contemporary artist. What emerges is the profile of a great connoisseur and art lover, sensitive interpreter of Caravaggio, with technical skills that allow him to explore new frontiers without creating irreparable breaks with the past.
The surplus value of this show is, in my opinion, in the fact that it actually introduces itself as a central thread that links the great tradition of the past to the contemporary. A choice that only a lecturer of painting techniques in a prestigious institution like the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome could decide so naturally and with such high results.
In the course of this volume new keys to the reading are also offered, thanks to the considerations of art experts and lovers of the subject, who share their feelings and offer many opportunities for the public interest and participation.
